Bread

Posted in Recipes by sophie

There’s something special about making homemade bread, it’s an experience for all of the senses. The feeling of gooey dough coming together as you knead it, the scent and magic of the yeast — watching it transform a concoction of flour and water into a sweet and savory masterpiece.

Bread is also one of those foods that doesn’t really have any limits; we eat toast for breakfast then enjoy sandwiches or pitas, like Savagerabbit’s Whole Wheat Pita Bread, for lunch. No matter how you slice it, bread is always delicious.

One classic bread recipe that’s both fascinating, tasty and versatile is potato bread. Carla says her Tender Potato Bread recipe would make great dinner rolls or focaccia bread.

And if you’re on a gluten-free diet, you can still enjoy Naomi’s Fig and Walnut Bread. Almond flour gives her bread a hearty, nutty texture that’s so good, you’ll find it hard to believe it really is gluten-free.

Bread can also be part of an amazing appetizer. For instance, Mbshah’s Vegetable Bread Baskets would make a great edible centerpiece, they are stunning. What’s impressive is that she shaped everyday slices of bread into little cheese baskets then stuffed them with veggies.

Whether you’re baking bread from scratch or using sandwich bread to make unforgettable appetizers, never underestimate what you can do with my personal favorite member of the carbohydrate family! :)
