Before you pack your picnic baskets for the summer beach trip, be sure to check out these sandwich recipes first. Bury the bologna sandwiches in the sand or feed them to the sea gulls; you’ll be enjoying a delicious sea food sandwich. Sobelle’s Soft Shell Crab Sandwiches are what’s for lunch. You won’t find these next to the cold cuts, even the tartar sauce is homemade, and it won’t take all afternoon to whip up.

Need something quick and filling to take on the road when you’re up before sunrise? DanielleNelson’s Brownbutter Fluffed Egg Sandwiches are the ideal portable breakfast. You can even make them the night before then heat them up before you hit the road.

How about a sweet and savory sandwich? Sophie32’s My Favourite Ricotta Sandwich is not exactly your everyday cheese sandwich. Sheep’s ricotta and balsamic are the savory part of a sandwich that gets topped off with fresh strawberries. Homemade sandwiches like these never looked so good.
