Ribs with Blueberry Barbecue Sauce
Posted in Recipes by sophie
When it came time to prepare her husband a hearty, meaty meal, Paula took the creative route. Though Paula knew he wasn’t a fan of the fruit-meat combo, she decided to come up with a berry delicious barbecue sauce recipe that won her husband, and even a few others, over. Which berry did she include in her homemade recipe for barbecue sauce? The blueberry!
She didn’t just use a few berries, either! Paula used two cups of blueberries to make her sauce! To give it a spicy kick, she also threw in some jalapenos, seeds and all, in addition to a bit of hot sauce. So, even if you don’t like blueberry muffins or pancakes, consider smothering some of Paula’s Blueberry Barbecue Sauce on a rack of ribs…or chicken! It’s a delicious way to sneak in a healthy amount of antioxidants, because blueberries are full of ‘em!
In her blog Half Baked, Paula mentions her husband’s suggestion of using the sauce on chicken, or various other meats. If you have leftover sauce, go ahead and freeze it for your next meaty meal, and you’ll find it still tastes great, the way Paula did.
