As the sayings goes: “A picture paints a thousand words.” Such is the case with Matt’s photo of his caramelized miso rice cakes. I found myself salivating as I scrolled through the pictures on his blog, Wrightfood. It doesn’t hurt that his talent for cooking is complimented by his talent for food photography. Matt’s food photography not only tantalizes the pallet but inspires the cooking senses.

When creating any great piece of artwork (yes, food is definitely considered art) there comes a time when we all need a little inspiration. Matt finds his inspiration by walking through his local farmers market, but this particular dish was motivated by a visit to a favorite restaurant. I can’t even begin to count the number of times that I have desperately tried to pick out and memorize the ingredients in a favorite restaurant’s dish. Whether you are inspired by going to the market, a restaurant, or simply looking in your pantry you will surely be inspired by Matt’s photography.
