The 4th of July calls for fireworks, flags, lots of bbq, and plenty of patriotic pastries! This Independence Day Liz decided to dust off an old recipe and give her infamous Strawberry Pie the acknowledgment it deserves. Cool, light, and sweet…it made for a perfectly refreshing treat after a long afternoon outdoors. This is a classic and fairly simple recipe, but be sure to give yourself plenty of time (it has to refrigerate for 6 hours!)

In her blog, Yo Soy, Liz confesses that she has only made this pie twice within the past six years because she believes it may be cursed. She claims that the pie is so tasty her friends never believe that the dish is homemade. (Liz may not be receiving the credit she deserves, but a truly tasty dessert is never a curse).
